Scientists to Gather for BASIS

The fifth Tampa Bay Area Scientific Information Symposium will be held October 20-23 at the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort in south St. Petersburg.

The theme of BASIS 5 is "Using Our Knowledge To Shape Our Future." The conference will focus on revisiting and updating science presented at the very first BASIS conference in 1982.

The more than 50 talks scheduled will present the latest research on all aspects of Tampa Bay, from geology to seagrasses to shorebirds. Panel discussions and poster sessions also are planned.
