DESCRIPTION:Spend part of your Saturday morning with a Naturalist who will lead you on a family-friendly nature hike in the Preserve. \nWhy is Brooker Creek Preserve “Our Wildest Place”? Nearly 9000 acres of undeveloped land in our crowded county is a real treasure. Come and enjoy the beauty on this one-mile hike. Registration is required. \nThis is a free hike\, however space is limited. Please be courteous and do not register unless you plan to attend and cancel your reservation if you can no longer attend. \n>>> REGISTER HERE <<< \nGuided Hike Information \nVolunteer hike guides will meet participants in the lobby of the Education Center 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. \n\nGuided hikes are under a mile in length\, much of which is on unimproved\, uneven sandy trails.\nHikes take about two (2) hours to complete.\nPlease wear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes\, sneakers or boots.\nInsect repellent (bug spray) is strongly recommended in summer months.\nBring plenty of drinking water and a snack.\nA hat\, sunglasses\, and sunscreen are also recommended.\nPets are not permitted.\nNo smoking is allowed.\nTrained volunteers will guide the hike.\nAn Equal Opportunity Institution.

If so\, join us for a Beginning Bird Hike to learn how to identify the county’s common birds as we meander along a one-mile trail. \nAll ages are welcome. Children under the ages of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and those younger than 6 may find this hike challenging. \nGuided Hike Information \nVolunteer Hike Guides will meet participants outside the Exhibit Hall 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. SUMMARY:Return the Preserve Work Day
DESCRIPTION:The Return The Preserve Work Days focus on areas of the preserve where exotic invasive vegetation and unnatural overgrowth exists.  It is our goal to help return the preserve to its natural beauty. \nWorking with FOBCP leadership and Preserve staff\, volunteers provide the much needed hands-on support necessary to remove nuisance plants providing a more healthy environment for native wildlife. \nRegistration is required. This event is capped at 25 volunteers. In addition\, the Volunteer Form must be completed and brought with you the day of the event. \nThis Work Day will be focusing on the Friends Trail located at the end of Lora Lane. Lora Lane is located a 1/2 mile west of the main Brooker Entrance off of Keystone. You travel one mile on Lora Lane until the road ends\, and park. Registered participants will meet at 7:45\, start at 8:00\, and work until 11:00. \nImportant notes: There are no facilities or restrooms at this site. \nPlease bring clippers\, loppers\, hand saws\, gloves\, hat\, and sunscreen. SUMMARY:Return the Preserve Work Day
DESCRIPTION:The Return The Preserve Work Days focus on areas of the preserve where exotic invasive vegetation and unnatural overgrowth exists.  It is our goal to help return the preserve to its natural beauty. \nWorking with FOBCP leadership and Preserve staff\, volunteers provide the much needed hands-on support necessary to remove nuisance plants providing a more healthy environment for native wildlife. \nRegistration is required. This event is capped at 25 volunteers. In addition\, the Volunteer Form must be completed and brought with you the day of the event. \nRegistered participants will meet in the parking lot at 7:45\, start at 8:00\, and work until 11:00. Please bring clippers\, loppers\, hand saws\, gloves\, hat\, and sunscreen.
