If so\, join us for a Beginning Bird Hike to learn how to identify the county’s common birds as we meander along a one-mile trail. \nAll ages are welcome. Children under the ages of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and those younger than 6 may find this hike challenging. \nGuided Hike Information \nVolunteer Hike Guides will meet participants outside the Exhibit Hall 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. When Nicole first saw Earth from space\, she realized how interconnected we are and knew she had to help protect our planetary home. She knows we can overcome differences to address global issues\, because she saw this every day on the International Space Station. Stott shares stories from her spaceflight and insights from scientists\, activists\, and changemakers working to solve our greatest environmental challenges. She is a veteran NASA Astronaut with two spaceflights and 104 days on both the International Space Station (ISS) and the Space Shuttle. SUMMARY:Return the Preserve Work Day
DESCRIPTION:The Return The Preserve Work Days focus on areas of the preserve where exotic invasive vegetation and unnatural overgrowth exists.  It is our goal to help return the preserve to its natural beauty. \nWorking with FOBCP leadership and Preserve staff\, volunteers provide the much needed hands-on support necessary to remove nuisance plants providing a more healthy environment for native wildlife. \nRegistration is required. This event is capped at 25 volunteers. In addition\, the Volunteer Form must be completed and brought with you the day of the event. \nThis Work Day will be focusing on the Friends Trail located at the end of Lora Lane. Lora Lane is located a 1/2 mile west of the main Brooker Entrance off of Keystone. You travel one mile on Lora Lane until the road ends\, and park. Registered participants will meet at 7:45\, start at 8:00\, and work until 11:00. \nImportant notes: There are no facilities or restrooms at this site. \nPlease bring clippers\, loppers\, hand saws\, gloves\, hat\, and sunscreen.
