SUMMARY:Dune Savers Work Day
DESCRIPTION:The City is ready for us to come back and help in the dunes!  There have been several SPB Beach Cleanups\, but they asked people to stay off the dunes.  Dune Savers will start back by just cleaning trash and debris from the dunes at Upham Beach.  Hopefully most of the invasive plants didn’t survive the storms! \nWe will meet in the parking lot by the Paradise Grille\, 6850 Beach Plaza\, St. Pete Beach 33706 at 7:30 am – 8:30 am. \nPlease bring refillable water bottles\, wear gloves and closed-toed shoes.  There will be buckets for trash and the City is supplying large totters. \nThank you all and can’t wait to see you Friday morning. \nQuestions\, please contact Deb Rothenberger

DESCRIPTION:Explore the woods of “Our Wildest Place”! \n\n\nJoin us on an educational guided hike geared toward tweens and teens! We’ll explore the native plants and animals that call Brooker Creek home while meandering along a 1.5 mile trail. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch to enjoy after the hike together. \nRegistration is required. Space is limited and this hike will cap at 20 participants. We will be out hooting for owls in the pre-dawn dark and counting every bird that we can find in the TAS sector. Participants do not have to join in all day—we welcome everyone to come and help count for whatever portion of the day that you can! DESCRIPTION:Come out for this “early morning” walk in the woods. \nCome out for this “early morning” walk in the woods with Alexa\, our awesome volunteer\, to seek out the resident and visiting birds of Brooker. Beginners and all levels of birders welcome. Meet in the parking lot at 8:00 a.m. \nThis is a free hike\, however space is limited. Please be courteous and do not register unless you plan to attend and cancel your reservation if you can no longer attend. \n>>> REGISTER HERE <<< \nGuided Hike Information \nVolunteer Hike Guides will meet participants in the parking lot 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. We strongly suggest all hikers visit the restroom (located in the Classroom Building) before we begin as there are no facilities along the trail. \n\nGuided hikes are under a mile in length\, much of which is on unimproved\, uneven sandy trails.\n\n\nHikes take about two (2) hours to complete.\n\n\nPlease wear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes\, sneakers or boots.\n\n\nInsect repellent (bug spray) is strongly recommended in summer months.\n\n\nBring plenty of drinking water and a snack.\n\n\nA hat\, sunglasses\, and sunscreen are also recommended.\n\n\nPets are not permitted.\n\n\nNo smoking is allowed.\n\n\nTrained volunteers will guide the hike.\n\nAdditional Notes: It takes about 10 minutes to drive from the preserve entrance (Keystone Rd.) to the parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:Join UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County Urban Forestry Agent\, Alyssa Vinson for a walk and talk about our local trees and fungi. \nShe will cover tree identification techniques\, including using iNaturalist to document your findings. Be prepared to walk with closed toed shoes\, water\, hat etc. A map will be emailed to you the day prior with the exact meeting location.
