DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an afternoon of classical music in the museum at Weedon Island Preserve! \nJoin us at the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center for a special pop-up classical music performance by Classical Revolution St. Pete! Classical Revolution’s quartet of professional musicians will play a medley of classical pieces in two sets. The first performance will begin at 1PM and last 30 minutes\, followed by a short intermission\, and then a second performance. \nClassical Revolution St Pete was founded in 2017 as a new St. Petersburg chapter of Classical Revolution\, a chamber music organization whose goal is simple: To bring high quality classical music to the people. By performing in unexpected and non-traditional venues\, Classical Revolution creates a space for people to enjoy classical music in a relaxed atmosphere\, introduces classical music to new audiences\, and provides additional performance opportunities to local musicians. \nThis performance is sponsored by the Friends of Weedon Island\, a non-profit 501c3 organization supporting the Weedon Island Preserve through education\, preservation\, and protection of its habitat\, ecology\, and cultural history. \nAll proceeds from this event help support the Friends of Weedon Island’s mission. DESCRIPTION:Wild Wings – \nBirds of Brooker Hike \nHave you wondered what bird is singing in your backyard? Do you see and hear birds but don’t know who they are? If so\, join us for a Beginning Bird Hike to learn how to identify the county’s common birds as we meander along a one-mile trail. \nAll ages are welcome. Children under the ages of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and those younger than 6 may find this hike challenging. \nGuided Hike Information \nVolunteer Hike Guides will meet participants outside the Exhibit Hall 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. We strongly suggest all hikers visit the restroom (located in the Classroom Building) before we begin as there are no facilities along the trail. \n\n\n\nGuided hikes are under a mile in length\, much of which is on unimproved\, uneven sandy trails.\nHikes take about two (2) hours to complete.\nPlease wear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes\, sneakers or boots.\nInsect repellent (bug spray) is strongly recommended in summer months.\nBring plenty of drinking water and a snack.\nA hat\, sunglasses\, and sunscreen are also recommended.\nPets are not permitted.\nNo smoking is allowed.\nTrained volunteers will guide the hike.\n\n\n\nRegistration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wild-wings-birds-of-brooker-hike-tickets-53439990450?mc_cid=a4dbfdde6b&mc_eid=1cbba2e07b \n
