SUMMARY:Volunteers needed for oyster shell bar projects at MacDill
DESCRIPTION:Tampa Bay Watch is suspending all scheduled volunteer projects\, environmental education field trips\, and special events at least through the month of April since our number one priority is the health and safety of our supporters\, volunteers\, and staff. We will continue to monitor and reassess the situation with hopes of resuming our programs in May. Please check our website for further updates. \nClick here to read a statement from Peter Clark\, our President and Founder\, on Tampa Bay Watch’s response to the Coronavirus. \nHelping hands are needed to assist in building a series of oyster shell bars at MacDill AFB on the mornings of March 5\, 6\, 19\, & 20. The project involves shoveling fossilized shell into mesh bags and transporting the bags to the shoreline. It is pretty physical labor with oyster shell bags weighing around 30 pounds each. The goal is to restore lost habitat systems to the bay\, prevent further erosion of the shoreline and improve water quality through natural biological filtration.\n\nThe deadline for volunteer registration is one week prior to the project to allow time for security clearance\, so you’ll be pre-approved for entry.\n\nClick a date below to register as a volunteer for this event:\n\nMarch 5\, March 6\, March 19\, and March 20

SUMMARY:Sunday Wind Trio
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an afternoon of classical music in the museum at Weedon Island Preserve!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nJoin us at the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center for a pop-up classical music performance by Classical Revolution St. Pete! Classical Revolution’s trio of professional musicians will play a medley of brass and woodwind-focused pieces in two sets. The first performance will begin at 1PM and last 30-40 minutes\, followed by a short intermission\, and then a second performance. \nClassical Revolution St Pete was founded in 2017 as a new St. Petersburg chapter of Classical Revolution\, a chamber music organization whose goal is simple: To bring high quality classical music to the people. By performing in unexpected and non-traditional venues\, Classical Revolution creates a space for people to enjoy classical music in a relaxed atmosphere\, introduces classical music to new audiences\, and provides additional performance opportunities to local musicians. \nThis performance is sponsored by the Friends of Weedon Island (FOWI)\, a non-profit 501c3 organization supporting the Weedon Island Preserve through education\, preservation\, and protection of its habitat\, ecology\, and cultural history. \nIf you attended our inaugural Sunday String Quartet in January\, then you know this program is very popular! Due to our having limited seating\, all seats for this performance will be $5/person*. Proceeds from this event go to support the Friends of Weedon Island’s mission. On the day of the concert\, you will have the opportunity to roll your admission fee into the price of a student\, individual or family membership for FOWI! \n————————————————————– \n*Refunds on tickets will be accepted up to 48 hours before the concert begins. \nQuestions or concerns? Please contact Preserve staff at weedonisland@pinellascounty.org. \nTickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sunday-wind-trio-tickets-92265981033
