DESCRIPTION:This four-part plant identification series will introduce participants to the steps required to positively identify plants. \nPlant identification is based on close observation of morphological characteristics\, contextual clues and lots of practice. This four–part advanced plant identification series will introduce participants to these concepts and the associated vocabulary of the plant scientist. \nThe class follows the contents of Harrington’s “How to Identify Plants” (1957); a copy of which is provided to each registrant. This concise text contains a comprehensive vocabulary of terms and illustrations to help clarify concepts. \nA packet of supplemental educational materials will also be provided to each registrant. \nAbout this Event \nDuring each 4-hour classroom event\, participants will engage in a participatory lecture\, and have plenty of time for Q & A. DESCRIPTION:This four-part plant identification series will introduce participants to the steps required to positively identify plants. \nPlant identification is based on close observation of morphological characteristics\, contextual clues and lots of practice. This four–part advanced plant identification series will introduce participants to these concepts and the associated vocabulary of the plant scientist. \nThe class follows the contents of Harrington’s “How to Identify Plants” (1957); a copy of which is provided to each registrant. SUMMARY:Fall Fright Fest
DESCRIPTION:Our Fall Fright Fest will be held on Saturday\, October 4 from 5-9pm.  \nFirst walks will be for the young ones\, beginning at 6pm\, learning about our native nocturnal wildlife.  \nThe 7pm and later walks will be stories about past misadventures at Camp Bayou and the spirits who can’t rest.  \nThen join us by the campfire for s’mores!  \nA donation of $5 per person is requested to help cover the cost of supplies. \nRegistration will open in September.
