SUMMARY:Walk Chinsegut Wildlife & Environmental Area
DESCRIPTION:Meet at the parking lot at the intersection of Snow Memorial Highway and US-41\, Brooksville\, FL 34601. It’s 6 miles north of Brooksville.  Bring water\, snacks\, and lunch if you want.\n\nWe’ll walk about 4 miles in to view the May’s Prairie wetland and back out.  It’s a wide\, well-kept trail\, with lots of birds!  Red-headed Woodpeckers and Barred Owls were the stars on our last walk\, and warblers\, thrushes\, and wading birds should be around in good numbers.\n\nThere is a picnic table by the parking lot\, so if you bring lunch we can eat there when we’re done.\nLeader Mary.keith@tampaaudubon.org 813-767-5863\n\nImportant! Pre-registration is required\, and participation is limited. Please do not attend this or any Tampa Audubon Society events if you have flu\, cold\, or covid symptoms. DESCRIPTION:To introduce active duty and transitioning personnel\, veterans\, and their spouses to the diversity of agriculture within Hillsborough County and the diversity of career opportunities in a modern agricultural operation. \nThe tour will start and end at UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County\, 5339 CR 579\, Seffner\, FL 33584 \nThe bus will leave HC Extension at 0830\, prior to that coffee and donuts will be available. Lunch will be provided and we will return to HC Extension by 1600. \nHighlights of the tour will include a visit to a tropical aquaculture farm\, Astin Farms\, a tour of the UF/IFAS Gulf Coast Research and Education Center\, and other Hillsborough County farms. \nCost is $5 which includes lunch.
