During this boat-based course\, we will cover essential topics like bait selection\, appropriate gear usage\, regulations\, and local fish identification and handling–ensuring participants are equipped with the knowledge to fish responsibly and respectfully.\nEach participant will have access to a fishing rod and all essential gear for a hands-on experience during the workshop\, with expert guidance readily available as needed. Attendees also have the opportunity to win prizes to help them kickstart their responsible fishing journey.\nAll proceeds support Tampa Bay Watch’s mission to foster a healthy Tampa Bay watershed through community-driven restoration projects\, education programs\, and outreach initiatives.\n\nThis program is perfect for:\n\nFamilies and parents looking to foster responsible fishing practices\nIndividuals interested in fishing responsibly and connecting with like-minded people.\nAnglers who have recently relocated to the Tampa Bay area and want a better understanding of the local waters\, responsible fishing practices\, and common fish species in the area.\n\nWhat to Bring\n\nWhile gear is provided for use during the workshop\, you are welcome to bring your own bait and tackle.\nYou are welcome to bring your own snacks and/or beverages. SUMMARY:Native Plant Walk: Upper Tampa Bay Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Dave Perkey\, Jan Allyn\, and other nature lovers on Sunday\, August 24th at this 596-acre peninsular park for a photography walk. Bring your camera or phone or just come along to stroll\, learn and enjoy! \nPlease RSVP to jallyn727@gmail.com with your name\, number in your party\, and a cell phone number where you can be reached in case of event cancellation. \nThe 596-acre park protects valuable coastal habitat and ecological communities that include mangrove forests\, salt marshes\, freshwater marshes\, coastal hammocks\, and pine flatwoods. Visitors can take a hike on nature trails and boardwalks and see gopher tortoises\, zebra swallowtail butterflies\, and even bobcats. They can also check out the shallow fresh water ponds that provide habitat for aquatic plants and animals. Live oaks and other hardwood trees often grow near these wetlands\, where red-shouldered hawks and bald eagles are sometimes seen.
