This spring 2019 series will focus on coastal and marine water quality\, an issue of utmost concern for the residents of Pinellas County and the greater Tampa Bay region. This talk will be on the blue-green algae blooms that have recently impacted South Florida’s coastal estuaries. The speakers will provide clarity on the issues\, speaking to the history of drainage in south Florida and Lake Okeechobee management\, coastal discharges and the most recent bloom events\, and current and future restoration opportunities.
