DESCRIPTION:OSHA Respiratory Requirements for Worker Protection Standards\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAre you a pesticide applicator using restricted-use pesticides that require the use of a respirator? Agricultural commodities like row crops\, tree crops\, forestry crops\, nurseries\, and other agricultural applications are the common commodities that the training applies to. We will provide guidelines on pesticide safety\, label interpretations\, and PPE information for use of respirators. \nIf you have asked yourself these questions\, we will answer these during the training session. \n·Can I do a fit test myself? \n·How soon do I need to change my cartridges? \n·What documentation do I need to stay in compliance? \n·What OSHA components of the respiratory protection were incorporated into the WPS? \n·How do I select the right respirator? \n·Do I need to see a doctor to wear a respirator? \nWe will help you understand NIOSH nomenclature on respirators. DESCRIPTION:See what the training is all about in our two promo videos: Video 1 or Video 2 \nExploring Environmental Education Curriculum Options (ECO) Teacher Training Workshop \nThe University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Pinellas County’s Natural Resources Agent has teamed up with St. Petersburg College\, College of Education Professor to offer this nationally award-winning\, week-long environmental education workshop for pre-service elementary & ESE education students\, current elementary & ESE teachers\, and non-formal educators. \nThe aim of this workshop is to provide participants with tools and information to interpret the natural world and impart the need for resource conservation to their audience. Using local\, state\, and national curricula correlated to Florida Standards\, participants will be given activities and resources to help foster environmental knowledge and good environmental stewardship in their students. \nEach day will feature different environmental subjects and professional speakers will be brought in to provide background knowledge to participants. Workshop sessions will conclude with a reflection and an evaluation of the day’s activities. DESCRIPTION:Heritage Monitoring Scouts (HMS Florida) is a public engagement program focused on tracking changes to archaeological sites at risk\, particularly those impacted by climate change in the form of erosion and sea level rise. Join archaeologists from the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) for this information session to learn how to become a heritage monitoring scout. FPAN will discuss threats to archaeological sites\, how to identify some common site types and artifacts\, and the best way to record and monitor them. \nFollowing this introductory session\, FPAN will do a short hike in the Weedon Island Preserve to do a hands-on training of how HMS tracks data on archaeological sites.
