DESCRIPTION:We will be having a guided tour of the Suncoast Conservation Center and related facilities that will include learning about sea turtles that have been injured. We will see how they treat them so that they can be released back to their natural habitat. We will also see sea urchins\, new fish hatchery and learn about coral restoration. We will learn about their fish hatchery. After a short walk (about 30 minutes) we can view manatees. \n \nThe Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)\, in partnership with TECO and The Florida Aquarium\, presents Suncoast Youth Conservation Center (SYCC)\, located in sunny Apollo Beach. The 6\,000 square foot building offers indoor and outdoor classroom space and is the educational hub for the Florida Conservation and Technology Center. DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this group is to offer a space for those who want to create all the things about city living that we would most love to live with. That would include access to fresh\, healthy food\, clean water\, clean air\, educational opportunities\, lots of art\, music\, dance and theatre\, parks and nature\, community gathering places\, community gardens\, decent mass transit\, and healthy neighborhoods. What is your vision of what Clearwater could be? \nWe currently have “Green Mixers” every third Tuesday at Moccasin Lake Nature Park at 6 PM.  Every month\, we meet more great people at these. \nA few of us are working on some projects to revitalize the downtown area. We have some great ideas in the works\, and are looking for more people to play with. What would you like to see happen downtown? \nWe are interested in getting community gardens going and there is some great news on that front too. We’ll keep you updated here. \nWe want to know what is important to you and what you would like to see happen in this city\, so please\, let us know!

Be prepared to walk with closed toed shoes\, water\, hat etc. A map will be emailed to you the day prior with the exact meeting location. SUMMARY:Work Day at Bell Creek Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Suncoast Chapter supports the native plant garden at the Bell Creek Preserve entrance and the Hillsborough County CELM (Conservation and Environmental Land Management) office\, whose headquarters are located there. \nMaster Gardener and Trail Cat volunteers have been cleaning up and removing invasive plants from the area. Suncoast members are invited to help with planting and maintenance. A county waiver form will be signed at the event. \nBring water bottle\, gloves and personal tools.
