SUMMARY:Birding Myakka River State Park
DESCRIPTION:Note that this is a mid-week trip! We will meet at 8:00 am at the Myakka River State Park Ranger Station on Wednesday.  Take the first right into the parking area after you pay the entrance fee ($4 for single occupant vehicle\, $6 for up to 8 occupants). We will check the river there\, then drive and walk to various locations in the park where incoming migrants seem to be congregating.\n\nThis park has 37 miles of hiking trails\, but we will only cover a small portion of the park. We will mostly stay within the 7 miles of drivable trail. Walking is easy on the boardwalk but may be harder in other areas of the park.  Additionally\, there is a canopy walk that we can explore if it is open\, but it would be based on the desire of the group.\n\nBring water\, snacks\, insect repellent and lunch if you want to picnic in the park. A hat is recommended since we will probably be in unshaded areas at least part of the time.\n\nContact trip leader Mary Keith at mary.keith@tampaaudubon.org  to register and receive updates.
