The funds raised will support funding for Estuary EDventure field trips and ensure that our oyster domes\, shell bars\, and salt marsh programs can continue on Tampa Bay’s shorelines and stabilize the natural environment. \n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re ready to get together again. Safely.\n\n\n\n\n\nIn recognition of the ongoing pandemic\, we are limiting attendance* to Evening for the Bay to 250 guests this year. Additionally\, we will take full advantage of our beautiful location and enjoy the majority of the evening outdoors. We will adhere to current CDC guidelines for this event.\n\n*Please note: for the safety of all\, we are not selling individual tickets this year. SUMMARY:Saltwater Seining
DESCRIPTION:Due to coronavirus (COVID 19)\, the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC until further notice in accordance with the latest CDC suggested guidelines. All indoor public and private events are cancelled at least through April 22. Please check back for updates\, close/open\, and event information at http://www.weedonislandpreserve.org/ \n  \nGoing Coastal:\nSaltwater Seining \nCome to Weedon Island and get your feet wet learning about what lives in our local marine environment! \nParticipants will learn in the classroom and out in the field about invertebrates and fish that make the waters of Weedon Island Preserve their home.  We will use dip nets and seine nets to collect and categorize local critters. \nParticipants must be able to walk on paved and natural paths for 20 minutes to get to the field sampling site\, and for the return hike. You must bring closed toed wading shoes (keens\, scuba botties\, old tennis shoes)\, and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet as we will get wet up to our waists while out in the water. It is also suggested to bring a water bottle\, hat\, sun protection\, and insect repellent. \nThis program is for adults and youth ages 12+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. \nQuestions or concerns? DESCRIPTION:Keep Manatee Beautiful will celebrate Independence Day on July 4! Join us the day after the fun for a cleanup. July 5 is often considered one of the dirtiest days of the year at the beach.\n\nVolunteers are needed to help pick up the litter and debris left behind. Just show up at Coquina Beach Bus Circle from 8 – 11 a.m. for the 5th of July Beach Cleanup.
