SUMMARY:Green Industries Best Management Practices (GIBMP) Certification
DESCRIPTION:GIBMP Certification is required to obtain the FDACS Limited Urban Fertilizer license. The class provides CEUs to renew landscape licenses. \n\n\n\n\n\nAnyone who applies fertilizer commercially/for hire in Florida is required to have the FDACS Limited Fertilizer license/certification. There are 2 steps to obtain the FDACS Fertilizer license/certification: \n\nAttend a GIBMP class and pass the exam with a minimum score of 75%. You will receive a certificate of training from UF/IFAS and DEP.\nComplete the FDACS license/certification application on the FDACS website link HERE \, chose “New Urban Landscape Commercial Fertilizer”\, upload your GIBMP certificate of training\, and pay the $25 fee for a 4 year license/certification. This renews every 4 years with 2 Core and 2 LUF CEUs.\n\nThis class provides the training and exam required to obtain a Limited Certification for Urban Landscape Commercial Fertilizer (LCULCF) also known as Fertilizer License\, as required by FL Senate Bill 494. \nThis program teaches the Best Management Practices for anyone working\, supervising or advising in the lawn\, landscape\, pest control\, or municipal grounds areas. What is your vision of what Clearwater could be? \nWe currently have “Green Mixers” every third Tuesday at Moccasin Lake Nature Park at 6 PM.  Every month\, we meet more great people at these. \nA few of us are working on some projects to revitalize the downtown area. We have some great ideas in the works\, and are looking for more people to play with. What would you like to see happen downtown? \nWe are interested in getting community gardens going and there is some great news on that front too. We’ll keep you updated here. \nWe want to know what is important to you and what you would like to see happen in this city\, so please\, let us know!

SUMMARY:Nature-Based Solutions at MacDill Air Force Base
DESCRIPTION:MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) faces challenges of shoreline erosion and flooding\, as experienced in both high tide flooding as well as during more major storms such as the hurricanes of 2024. The natural configuration of the AFB provides significant opportunities to employ nature-based solutions (NBS)\, actions inspired by nature that rely on incorporation of natural features and processes\, to help improve base readiness. \nThe Water Institute is facilitating a Structured Decision Making (SDM) process that will engage decision makers and the public on NBS alternatives being considered for implementation at the base. This process will result in an engineering design of the chosen alternative. \nThe first workshop of the process will provide an overview of the project and discuss the NBS alternatives being considered. SUMMARY:Create Clearwater Green Mixer
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this group is to offer a space for those who want to create all the things about city living that we would most love to live with. That would include access to fresh\, healthy food\, clean water\, clean air\, educational opportunities\, lots of art\, music\, dance and theatre\, parks and nature\, community gathering places\, community gardens\, decent mass transit\, and healthy neighborhoods. What is your vision of what Clearwater could be? \nWe currently have “Green Mixers” every third Tuesday at Moccasin Lake Nature Park at 6 PM.  Every month\, we meet more great people at these. \nA few of us are working on some projects to revitalize the downtown area. We have some great ideas in the works\, and are looking for more people to play with. What would you like to see happen downtown? \nWe are interested in getting community gardens going and there is some great news on that front too. We’ll keep you updated here. \nWe want to know what is important to you and what you would like to see happen in this city\, so please\, let us know!
