Pinellas County Solid Waste offers more opportunities to “talk trash” at
three public workshops
Workshops next public outreach step in development of 30-year master plan

·         Community invited to review existing and potential solid waste
programs, such as opportunities to increase recycling and create more
renewable energy from waste

·         Participants will have opportunity to evaluate and provide
feedback about the most desirable and feasible programs

·         Workshops to be held in convenient north, mid and south county
locations
Pinellas County Solid Waste is inviting residents, businesses and business
partners to attend one of three upcoming Master Plan Workshops to review
existing solid waste programs, and provide feedback about potential new
countywide waste, recycling and reduction programs, as well as evaluate
opportunities to create more renewable energy from waste.

“The next 30 years is a very important timeframe in the lifespan of our
landfill. Continuing, creating and sustaining the right programs is at the
core of developing an effective master plan that meets current needs and
anticipates future needs of residents, visitors and businesses,” according
to Pinellas County Administrator Barry Burton. “The choices we make now
will shape our environment and economy far into the future. A
collaborative approach is imperative in making these decisions.”

Participants are encouraged to attend a workshop location convenient to
them. The following workshop dates will provide the same information at
each location:

·         Monday, April 29, from 6 – 8 p.m.

The workshops will be held in an open-house style, including an overview
presentation and project-related information at 6 p.m. County
representatives will be available to answer any questions afterwards.
