MacDill Black Terns

Pre-registration mandatory with photo ID and the trip is limited to ten attendees. We will be meeting outside of the Base to carpool, for those willing to do so. All birders attending our trip to MacDill AFB need to allow the base security office to perform a routine background check. The base must complete checks prior to the trip.

Potential attendees should register before Aug 15. I will be sending participants a request for information and more details of field trip.

The main goal of this FT is to see Black Terns at the Base marina and hopefully many other migratory shorebirds. We will be driving and stopping to walk short distances at a few other locations. I would characterize this trip as easy, with short walks, on fairly even ground. Attendees should bring their lunch and water. We should be finished by noon. Tampa Audubon reserves the right to cancel the trip as necessary.
