Wetlands are Florida’s original stormwater systems and once covered more than half the state.

About this Event

Wetlands are Florida’s original stormwater systems and once covered more than half the state. Now we have infrastructure that mimics this natural water system. Stormwater ponds are constructed to prevent flooding, improve water quality, and add aesthetic value to a home. Unfortunately, some of these ponds are covered with nuisance vegetation, have significant erosion, experience fish kills, and look plain awful. Pinellas County Environmental Management will walk you through basic stormwater pond management and offer advice in improving your neighborhood stormwater pond!
