Join us at Weedon Island Preserve for Evening with the Author, a literary series that introduces readers to the masterminds and histories behind their favorite Florida stories.

This Evening’s guest will be Cathy Salustri, author of the 2016 travel narrative Backroads of Paradise which chronicles Salustri’s adventures retracing WPA-era Florida driving tours from the 1939 WPA Florida guide. The New York Times travel section featured Backroads in 2017. Her next book, tentatively titled The Florida Spectacular, is undergoing edits with UPF. She’s the Arts & Entertainment editor at Creative Loafing Tampa, and her portfolio includes USA Today, Visit Florida and regional press. Salustri is also the Arts & Entertainment editor at Creative Loafing Tampa. She lives in Gulfport with her husband Barry, two hounds and two cats (who may or may not have a sugar addiction).

Attendees are welcome to bring copies of Backroads of Paradise to be signed; in addition to copies being available for purchase at the event. The talk will begin at 7:00pm with complimentary refreshments available starting at 6:30pm.
