Terra Ceia Preserve State Park

November 22, 2025 @ 7:30 am - 10:30 am
  • « Parents Night Out- Campfires
  • Field Trip: Roosevelt Wetland »

Located just over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Manatee County, Terra Ceia Preserve State Park is 2,000 acres of mangrove forests, freshwater and saltwater wetlands, and uplands. Much of the preserve is in various stages of habitat restoration that is intended to return agricultural land to its natural and ecologically diverse condition. Park trails are open to foot traffic only and accessible from park gates.

We plan to meet at the Hightower Trail Entrance. Hightower_trailmap_georef.pdf. Walking is easy and will mostly be flat. Bring water, snacks, and insect repellent.  A hat is recommended since we will probably be in unshaded areas at least part of the time.

There are no restrooms at the park.

Contact TAS Field Trip Coordinator Logan Lane logan.lane@tampaaudubon.org for more information.

Important! Pre-registration is required, and participation is limited. Please do not attend this or any Tampa Audubon Society events if you have flu, cold, or covid symptoms. Tampa Audubon is committed to reducing the spread of illnesses. The health and safety of our members is of the highest priority.
