September 16, 2023 @ 7:00 am - 10:30 am
  • « Moth Night!
  • 10 Camping Essentials »

Honeymoon Island, located on the in Pinellas County, faces “St. Joseph Sound, the center affords spectacular views of vast acres of sea grass beds, thick mangroves, mud flats, and oyster beds. From here, one can observe various shore birds, wading and diving birds including spoonbills, egrets, herons, osprey and pelicans, and an abundance of marine life.” Recent sightings (in late August) include Northern Waterthrush, Dickcissel, and a Buff-breasted Sandpiper! eBird details Honeymoon Island SP, Pinellas County, FL, US – eBird Hotspot

We are attempting to get early entry passes and if we are able, we will get out at 7:00 a.m. to catch the early birds. If we cannot arrange early entry, we will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Besides the great natural habitat, the park features a Nature Center, http://honeymoonislandnaturecenter.org/main.htm offering displays and a gift shop.
