Birding at Alafia Scrub Nature Preserve

Enjoy a short, shady hike in August at this 80-acre ELAPP nature preserve in south Hillsborough County. The elevation is flat, but there is a fair number of roots. We will walk approximately one-and-a-half miles. Hopefully the woods will yield a few early fall migrants. There is no bathroom. At only a mile east from the Interstate-75 Gibsonton Drive exit, access is easy and quick. Take Exit 250 of Interstate-75, head east on Gibsonton Drive one mile to Hagadorn Drive and turn left. Go one block to Elbow Bend Rd. and turn left. Park in the designated parking lot.
