Along the Florida Gulf coast, the striped mullet is regarded as an excellent food fish. They are also used as bait for a variety of sport fish and regularly bring a higher price as bait than as food fish. You will learn about the history of this fishery in southwest Florida in this bite-sized science webinar.

Dr. Angela Collins is the UF/IFAS Extension Sea Grant Agent in Manatee, Hillsborough and Sarasota Counties. Her extension programs focus on marine fisheries and reef fish biology and ecology.
