Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society

The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society meets the
second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at The Land O’ Lakes Community
Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd/US 41, Land O’ Lakes, 34639, between SR 52
and SR 54. The subject of the Tuesday, February 11, 2020, meeting is “Common
Non-Venomous and Venomous Snakes of Tampa Bay Area“, presented by Dennis
Beeker. Dennis lives in Pinellas County and has a reptile collection of 13
non-venomous snakes, one lizard, 2 turtles and a large African tortoise. He
rescues and relocates native reptiles and tries to find forever homes for
any non-native or permanently injured reptiles.

Dennis is the Vice President of the Suncoast Herpetological Society and a
member of the Tampa Bay Turtle and Tortoise Society. He is also a Board
Member of the Friends of Moccasin Lake Nature Park in Clearwater, takes care
of the park reptiles and gives talks to park visitors to educate them about
reptiles.

Meetings of the Chapter are free, and all interested parties are invited to
attend, to bring questions about their yard, and participate in light
refreshments and the native plant drawing. Telephone inquiries are taken by
