Through classroom instruction, field trips, and practical experience, this 6-day module will provide instruction about Florida’s natural habitats, the flora and fauna that live within the habitats, how we have an impact on the natural habitats, and conservation issues of Upland Habitats in Florida. The class will address naturalist interpretation skills, environmental ethics, and the role of humankind in shaping our past and determining our future. Class dates are March 30, April 6, 13, 20, 27 and May 4 with graduation on May 9 at the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners board meeting.
